Hello, I just joined the forum and have asked for a blog to be created. I hope to begin it soon. I will not be writing about myself in the blog, but about my son, and maybe a little about my sister, both of whom has just been diagnosed recently with moderate sleep apnea.
I don't know which came first, but now my 11 yr old son has Syncope due to Orthostatic Intolerance. That means he faints due to blood pressure changes or drops.
I believe he has had sleep apnea his whole life. I am not sure if one set off the other (combined with other triggers), but the effects have been devastating. The blog will have more detail, but I am interested in getting more parents involved. Too many parents are being told their child has ADHD or some other type of behaviorial or neurological issue. The behavior becomes the target, instead of a symptom.
I would love to hear from anyone in the forum.
