When an old lady gets out of her car to offer assistance, and you TAKE it!
I was getting out of the car for a doctors appointment on Thursday, and putting my chair together. (I am a para, and transfer into the driver's seat. Then I break down my chair, throw the wheels and cushion in the back seat, and put the frame in front with me, reversing the process to get out. On a good day this only takes a few minutes.) But today I was having trouble getting the wheel attached, the frame wasn't positioned ideally, and a cold wind blowing kept blowing my hair in my eyes. I was leaning out of the car, trying to put the axle pin in place, and it wasn;t working. What I should have done of course was bring the wheel back in, reposition the frame, and start again, but I didn;t want to take the extra time, I stubbornly kept at it all the while realizing that the wheel was also on the verge of falling off completely, and land out of my reach in the parking lot.
Meanwhile an older woman (I really shouldn;t have called her an old lady, she was actually only a little older than my mother, probably in her late 70s) came out of the building, got into her car and started to leave. She circled the lot, and pulled in next to me, got out of her car, and asked if I needed help. And yes, actually I did. So she helped me get the wheels in, and went on her way. And I got out of the car and continued on my way.
So yea, that was my day.
What about you?
