    Nerve pain

I am new to this environment, and would like to pose a question regarding nerve pain. Does anyone know if it progresses and gets worse, mine has, and what are people doing for it. I am taking Neurontin daily. Also, I find it worsens the more physically active I am. Can anyone share their experiences?

    Re: Nerve pain

I have had nerve pain since my accident in 1987.  It varies from day to day.  It seems to be affected by weather, humidity, and stress.  Neurontin did not help me.  Pamelor helps but a few years ago I began taking Lyrica.  That has been a life saver and had dramatically improved the quality of my life.

    Re: Nerve pain

I am taking Neurontin, but nerve pain is up and down, some days none and other days severe, strange. Did try Lyica initially, but stopped it. May ask about it again since this is worsening.

    Thank you for info.

Does your spasms seem to affect the nerve pain?

    Re: Nerve pain

I was injured in 1995 and have always had nerve pain-burning in my lower back.  I am taking Amitriptlyn and have been other than when I was in the hospital, I was on Neurontin but did not get any relief so I switched.

The Amitriptlyn makes the burning tolerable except when I am ovulating or have my period.  The burning intensifies and  is on my legs and feet also.  It dominates my thoughts on those days but I know it is temporary and I get through it.

I have also noticed that generally the burning is the worst in the morning before I have done my morning "program" (not to be too graphic!) Ha!

I have found swimming in a warm pool or a warm shower helps, strange warm helps burning but it does for me!

    Hope this helps!
