    Help finding assistance

I was injured 18 years ago c5-6 at the age of 15, I'm 34 now and have been given the opportunity to join an outpatient program in Houston (TIRR). PROBLEM! I live in San Antonio 4 hrs distance, and can't afford the travel and lodging. Can anyone help me find a way to get assistance?

    Re: Help finding assistance

I would start by asking TIRR if they have something in place.  Also TIRR is a Model SCI Center -which means they likely also have a support group for patients.  Maybe the support group has some transportation assistance?  Another idea is to try your local Center for Independent Living. I belive yours is http://www.coil.org/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1  they might be able to help or provide ideas/assistance on who can.
