A book about being a quadriplegic

Dear Dr. Gottlieb- a good friend has written her story. She has been paralyzed for ten years after a shooting and was not expected to live more than a few days. It is a moving story and she is looking for help in how to possibly get it published. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jane

I would recommend putting together a proposal which would include table of contents, a couple of chapters, description of audience and how this book is similar and different from others who have done well. Then I would start looking for agents and be prepared for lots of rejections and lots of editing after that!  Publishing world is pretty difficult, but I trust she knows something difficulties!
