disabled transport and tours in hawaii

My c-4 incomplete wife is a native Hawaiian. Travel to the island is easy, getting around the island is another story! In response to this problem, I bought a 26' handivan/tour bus and installed a bed and a portable toilet. This means while on oahu no worries no hurries. We are happy to help out with your vacation. For more info go to www.diamondgprivatecharters.com. We try to work to everybodies limitations, physical and financial. In fact we are happy to give helpful info even if you don't need to use us as tour guides.  We are a mom and pop operation, so reservations are helpful. Mahalo (thanks), Adam the waterdog 1-808-630-0635. hope to see you soon!

At least Oahu has both accessible buses and adapted vans for rent...not so easy on the other islands. Have not had much problem getting accessible rooms in Honolulu area. Tours can be a challenge. The cruise ships have little or nothing to offer that is accessible at most ports, although we have found one or two excursions in Hilo and on Kauai. Access in general in Hawaii is only fair to poor. When I ask about this and the ADA I have been told more than once that "we don't go by that here" even though Hawaii has been a state for nearly 50 years now!

Here is another good resource in Maui:
