    New Google map for paralysis community

    We just posted a Google map allowing people living with paralysis, family/friends, caregivers, scientists, and supporters to post a pin and be counted.

    Check it out: http://www.campaigntocureparalysis.org/

    Thanks!

    Hmmmmm.  I put in our address and town correctly, and our town shows up on the map.  But our pin doesn't show up at our town, it shows up about 30 miles SW of where we actually live.  Help?

    We built in a little fudge factor, so you couldn't stalk people through this map. The placement is all a Google thing. I have no control over that. Sometimes it reads apartment numbers funny and people end up in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

    Re: New Google map for paralysis community

    Hi Rob!!!  This question is for yourself,,, and Peter!!!  I recieved an email (and watched the press conference held the other day) and Peter had stated that there are "5,596,000 Americans are currently living with paralysis".  I notice it doesn't say anything about Canadians (which I am) living with simular disabilities.  *-)  Just wondering if you're going to include us (people from Canada) in that number???  We go through alot of problems with finance here to.  We make under $15,000.00/year,,, and it's really hard to make ends meet sometimes.  :(  So,,, I'm kind of asking on behalf of myself,,, and the people I know,,, and don't know,,, living with paralysis in hopes of being recognized,,, not only for people that live in the States,,, but people that live here,,, in Canada!!!  I know a few people that are C-2,,, and T-10 disabled.  (I don't know how to really word that,,, but it's where they broke thier back)  So,,, Thank You in advance;

    Your newest member so far,,,

    Thanks for joining Wolfman_71! You certainly count.

    The survey had to have some boundaries so they decided for now to stop at the US boarder. That's one of the reasons we created the map at www.campaigntocureparalysis.org so others could be counted. Please put a pin in and ask your friends to do the same.

    Our Resource Center knows no boundaries though. So, if you need help or even just want to chat about your ups and downs, please give them a call: 1-800-539-7309.
