    happy endings

I just found this forum through a friend of mine. I am a paraplegic and I am glad to see  a new site for us to talk in.

I wanted to share this little story.

I was feeling down and depressed. I had a uti but took my son to see a movie anyway. (He's 8) Part of the movie got a little scary. One of those action scenes where you worry the bad guy might just win. I put my hand on his leg and he said, "It'll be ok. It's always a happy ending in the movies." I found it funny he was trying to reassure me. I guess my real mood showed thorough because I said, "Too bad it's not like that in real life." He just looked over at me and said, "How do you know it isn't?"

That really touched me. I love the innocence and wisdom of a child.

I just came back from yesterday.

There is nothing better sometimes than seeing the world through the eyes of a child.

They can make it all worthwhile.

Maybe we never know when "happily ever after" is right around the corner.  I'm glad your son gave you a lift and glad you found this site.

I just love it when I slow down long enough to view the world thru the eyes of my 10 year old. You indeed have a wise son.

Glad you joined the community, spead the word! Big Smile [:D]

    Thank you,

My son was only four when I was injured. He's now 27, and he has always had the ability to find the right words to say at the right moment--just as your son has done for you!

I'm glad you have him, and that you fund this site!

    Welcome!

    Re: happy endings

My mother always said that children give you a reason to get out of bed each day and we kept her busy each morning, running around tending to us but it was not until I had my own children that I truly understood what she meant.  Their smile can make your heart swell, their laugh can make you laugh, their tears can break your heart --they give you purpose.
