Help paying for a wheelchair accessible vehicle

Hi my name is Stacey, I am new to the forum. I am 10 years post-SCI injury, T10. I heard from a friend of mine that she knew of a grant issued for help with purchasing a wheel-chair accessible vehicle through The Christopher Reeves foundation. Is anyone familiar with this?

    Hi, Stacey!

    Welcome here!

The Foundation does not provide grants for individuals. The PRC does, however, have resources that may help you.

You may want to contact the Disabled Dealer or Accessible Vans of America, both of which have ads that offer used accessible vans for sale, which will help with the cost.

    Their websites are:

    http://www.accessiblevans.com/

    http://www.disableddealer.com/

Please feel free to call me or anyoe on the Information Specialist team. We can provide additional information, including a list of other non-profit organizations that provide grants for individials and state resources for your state. The phone number is (800) 539-7309. My extension is
    7202.

    I hope this helps!

    Donna

Thank you very much. I have a friend of mine that also has a spinal cord injury that states he rememebers reading about several grants mentioned in Christopher Reeves' last book. Are you aware of these grants?
