Sam Schmidt, forming Indy car driver and current Indy car owner, had his car qualify with just five minutes to go on Pole Day. Sam is a good friend of the Foundation. He was spinal cord injured on Jan. 6, 2000, in an Indy Car testing crash at Walt Disney World Speedway. Since he has started the
Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation and created
Sam Schmidt Motorsports.
