    conference

My husband and I are supposed to attend this conference in June.  I am also new to the forums. Could some of you please tell me how this conference was helpful.  What if one spouse was reluctant to go or just going because you wanted to go.

    Thanks

    Re: conference

My husband and I went to a WTR a year ago and really enjoyed it.  He had an emotional affair a couple years before and there were still some unresolved issues that the conference helped us talk out.  Although when I signed us up, he agreed but I think he was also hesitant - thinking it was going to be too "intense" or something...I don't know what he thought.  But we went and by Saturday afternoon he told me he was so glad we were there and the money spent for it was the best thing we've ever spent money on in our entire marriage (16 years at that time..in fact, the conference was the same weekend as our anniversary).  We plan to go again in another year or two...not because of any problems, but because we enjoyed it!

    Enjoy!

Have you been this year?  If so, how did you like it?

I understand they changed the format and I was curious what's different exactly.

    Re: conference

Definitely go!  I went about 4 years ago, and my husband wasn't thrilled about going, but he agreed to go with me.  We didn't have any problems in our relationship at all, but we ended up being really glad that we went.  It gave us a chance to get away from our three teenagers for a weekend, to focus on the Lord for 3 days, and just enjoy each other.  Also, there was one thing, not a big thing at all, but one thing that I had always thought my husband should apologize to me for, but he just never did.  After the men's talk on Sunday morning, he came to me without any prompting and suddenly apologized for something that had happened 15 years earlier!

Also, my husband had been hesitant about attending because he was afraid it would be a lot of man-bashing, and husband-bashing, but it wasn't.  In fact, he did so many things right, that he went home feeling very good about where we were as a couple, and what he was doing in our marriage as a man.

I haven't been to one since they implemented the new format, but I want to go back next year, so somebody please post what it's like.  I heard that at the end of the weekend, they give you a chance to repeat your vows to each other.  I've always wanted to do that.
