    Summer movies

This has been touched on in Sabrina's Memorial Day Weekend thread and Pooh's Narnia thread, but I was wondering what summer movies everyone is looking forward to.

I can't wait to see Indiana Jones

My sons want to see Iron Man

I just heard about the Hulk, so I am sure they will want to see that one too.

I think the one with Will Smith looks cute...can't remember what it is called though.

Are there any coming out that are good for little girls?

I forgot that Pixar is coming out with a new movie this summer too...WALL*E!

There are a TON to choose from!  Thank goodness we have one day a week that they charge early admission prices all day!  Otherwise we'd go broke this summer! ;P""""

Oh, so here's where I put my signature. Unfortunately, I don't have anything cute or profound to say today. :)

    Re: Summer movies

Hey, thanks, Bright Eyes!  That list is totally helpful, because I have dain bramage and can't seem to remember what is to be coming out, has already been released, what has come and gone, and what is moving to DVD. Ü

Speaking of that...dain bramage and not being able to remember movies...my dh and I took in a show on our first date.  He planned, oh you know, the typical, dinner and a movie.  When I asked him what movie, he said "it's supposed to be really good!  Its called Something Called Nothing!"

I blankly stared at him, having no clue what he was talking about...and was distracted for the better part of the date trying to figure out what the heck movie he was taking me to, because I had NEVER heard of a movie with the title Something Called Nothing...and if there WAS such a movie...I was pretty sure by the title alone that I was in for a snore fest.

You can imagine my relief when the movie was ACTUALLY called "Look Whose Talking!"

    LOL!

    Re: Summer movies

We saw Speed Racer and there was one scene I did not like very much for my children to see.

Narnia "Prince Caspian" was awesome, but a bit violent for my kids :)

We are planning to see Kung Fu Panda and the kids are excited!  :D

    Re: Summer movies

Ew!  Sorry about Speed Racer...that is a real bummer! :(

Tomorrow I am taking my three older kids to see Price Caspian and leaving the little one at home with my dh.  I can't WAIT to get mindlessly lost in a movie, and bless my dh with a little quiet time at home, since we are going during dd's nap time. Ü

    Re: Summer movies

Hubby and I went to see his long awaited Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.yesterday.  The theater was brimming with testosterone. LOL  Including my husband having a big manly grin throughout the movie as well.   Everytime I heard all these men burst out laughing or respond to something in the movie I would look at my husband and just smile big.  My husband enjoyed the movie and I did too. A bit far fetched in parts, but I thought it was pretty entertaining. I missed about 10 minutes of the movie when I had to run to the restroom in the middle of it.

    Entertaining movie!

I can't tell for sure by watching previews if Wall E will be any good or not.  I think I will wait for actual movie watchers reviews after it comes out.

    Re: Summer movies

Well, dd  ended up getting in trouble before church and had to stay home (but had to stay in bed reading comic books so that dh still had some quiet mental heath time) , so the boys talked me into going to see Indianna Jones.  What a FUN movie! Ü  The three of us liked it very much.

There were mostly families that were there...and I was surprised that it was rated pg13...

The previews for Hancock looked really good, and Get Smart looked silly.  We all agreed that the Panda one was a pass for us.

Anyway, a fun day for us.  Bring on the rest of the list! Ü

While I am not promoting the movies that I added above by any means, I just wanted to add to the list to make it a little more complete. The Happening is another M. Night Shyamalan production, Wanted is definitely a testerone movie and Mamma Mia is from the Broadway play.

    Re: Summer movies

I think Journey to the Center of the Earth with Brendan Fraser will be good.  I liked the one from about 1962 with James Mason, Pat Boone, Arlene Dahl, and Diane Baker.  This one looks like it will be Fraser with some children.  We saw Indiana Jones last weekend and it was good.

It would be good if somebody could make a "Biblical" Epic that was good.  I think there was one called King David with Richard Gere.  I never saw it.  It was supposed to be bad.  The Passion of the Christ was just too mystical Catholic for me.  It was good, but Gibson's theology doesn't go with mine, and I don't get a lot of the Catholic fascination with the torture of Christ.

Last Friday, Hubby and I saw "The Incredible Hulk" ...very entertaining...

(Not to give any "secrets" away-- BUT...I highly recommend that you see "Iron Man" BEFORE seeing "The Incredible Hulk" ).

We are going to see "Get Smart" this Friday...(Can't wait!!)

    Blessings!
