mypramid.gov has a lot of useful information
I just came upon this post since I was bored and wanted to see what some of you had to say. I'm on summer vacation from school now and am enjoying the break from the kids.
Reason why I'm writing is that you seem to be doing so well. I needed that boost to get going. Twice I have lost 20 lb. and excercised every day and I felt GREAT! Now since I was sick last winter, I stopped exercise, went back to my old way of eating and put back on 15 pounds. I feel so badly. ANyway, could you pray for me to get back into the routine of eating right and exercising? I did Gilad today (FIT TV) and it is my beginning. I have blown it eating so many bars I made for my H birthday. That was before I read this post. I am ready to start again. I am jealous of you ladies for doing so well, but I will try again starting right now!
Thank you so much for the prayers Jane, I know the Lord is giving me tons of grace and strength which I haven't experienced in a long time dieting. Each time at school I would try to begin my diet it would last a day until someone brought goodies ( and there were always amazing ones, usually a table-full). That was the end of my diet!
It really helps with school out and time to work around the house. I've been counting calories each day and of course that means healthy eating since calories are less in fruits and veggies. I've had lots of raw cabbage with tuna and that spritzer dressing.. I've been making banana smoothies with a banana, frozen strawberries and skim milk. I always have steel cut oats for breakfast. Anyway, the Lord has allowed me to lose 5 lb since I asked you to pray. So thanks!
I am sorry about your foot! I just called my husband who has been a cross country coach for years and has seen many kinds of foot and leg problems, but he said he would have to do internet research just as you have done, so sorry I couldn't share anything helpful. I will be praying for you.
I have a different problem. I'm 61 and have horrible arth. in my knees, ankles and feet. I have a dr. appt. in a week because they are so bad I can hardly hobble around anymore. I do weights with a videos I have (Joyce Vedral) and stationary bike which doesn't seem to bother my knees at all. I can't walk or jog anymore so my running days are over. I'm happy you are able to still be a runner even though you are out of commission for awhile. I pray the Lord will heal you soon and in the mean time a verse is in my mind which also is a song my children used to sing, "IN everything give thanks, for this is the will of God". I'm sure it's tough now to stick to your dieting but I'll pray for you with that alson.
Hey guys! I haven't been on in FOREVER! Anyway, how has everyone's progress been? Well, I have to be honest, my eating habits the last couple of weeks have been HORRIBLE! BUT.... since I've been trying to watch what I eat I have lost 2 sizes and approximately 25 pounds (perhaps more but I didn't start counting right away). So, I'm extremely happy about that and wearing my new jeans, and skorts and capris with pride!! Overall I'm feeling a lot better about myself. I would like to get back to work this week on eating better and doing more exercise. Last week I kinda slacked on both but even when I wasn't eating the best I was still working out the week or so before that. I think I just hit a plateau and got discouraged and then we had 3 birthdays in 1 week, so it got hard. But I will be on vacation in 2 weeks so I think a little extra hard work will help me to feel rejuvenated and refreshed for that vacation. I was even thinking about doing some walking on the beach while I'm there for my exercise. That should be easy enough!! Anyway, hope you all are doing great!! I missed ya!
softiegirl:Hi Libra: and thanks for the great thread.I've become a real "fatty" lately amongst many marital turmoils, so I too, am trying to lose several pounds and eat right.I have discovered a very good book, called The Paris Diet. I'm following it as of the past week. It's basically a high protein balanced diet, but it does contain some really nice recipies by known Parisian chefs blending not only taste but low in fat as well. You or anyone may want to check it out. I really like it so far. Don't know if I've lost any weight on it yet in a week, but my skin does look radiant, as I've eaten fish now every day for a week.
Hey there softiegirl, I don't do fish, so if that's the bulk of that diet, I think I'll have to pass. For me it's really all about watching calories. Which I haven't done a great job of lately as I said in my previous post. But gonna get back to it. Hopefully I've had just enough of a "break" in eating "right" that my metabolism will have a jump start again when I go back to eating "right". LOL I'd like to lose another pant size by the end of summer. I don't think that's too far fetched, is it? It would be great to lose 2...but I'll set my sights on 1.
