My 13 year old daugthers are identical twins.  On the surface they appear to be identical in every way.  They both are intelligent, witty and attractive, but one is more social the other.  She has always been more popular.  This worries me.  I'm not trying to have popular children.  I just hate seeing my daughter sitting at home while her sister is always on the go.  Sometimes it seems like her sister is her best and only friend.  I am glad they get along so well.  I wish she could make some friends outside of the family.  Her sister tries to include her, but she just wants to stay home.

Does anyone have any advice?  Maybe I'm overly worried.   

My cousins are identical mirror twins.  They also were very much alike and also very much different when it came to the social scene.  They would also switch as they got older too.  One would be more out going one year then the next it would be the other one.  I think it's wonderful they can be themselves and choose to be themselves.  I think your girls are showing that they have independence and a good self esteem.  If your really worried ask your daughter if there is a reason, see if you can pick up on any body language.  I have a 13 year old and this is a hard time for kids.  It's sounds like your family is very blessed.  They have each other so you know she has someone to talk if she's not comfortable sharing with you.
