    Re: Trying to eat RIGHT!

Ok, so here's my new fettish.  Working out at WORK.  How great is that?!  I have been using arm weights and doing a little crunch thing from a seated position.  I'm also walking on my breaks.  I'm really hoping to lose 2 more pant sizes by the end of summer.  I'm feeling great about myself lately.  I haven't had this much energy in a long time and I haven't been this size...since I can't remember when...several years.  So, I'd love to lose 2 more sizes.  If I lose just 1 more I'd be down to what I was before I had children.  2 sizes is definetly eons ago, but I think I can do it.  I'm really trying to make my body healthy.  I may not make every food choice the right one, but I think as long as I'm working out and toning up and getting fit I will be happy with my outward appearance.  I've had so many people comment about how I look lately because they can definetly see a difference, plus I'm sure they can tell a difference in how I carry myself.  I'm really excited about having the power to transform my life!

    Re: Trying to eat RIGHT!

Been awhile since I checked this forum but I noticed the' trying to eat right' at the top of my list.  I did terrible today with my eating and I haven't exercised since I left for our vacation and came back from vacation.  My knees are so shot, but I can't use that for an excuse.  I need to begin again. Just reading how good you ladies were doing, I was encouraged to begin my diet.  I lost five pounds after school let out and I want to keep at it.  Thanks for all the good reports from you, it helps me to be motivated.

I would love to be able to eat right and get back into shape after having my 2 babies! Problem is, finding time for myself, I can't afford a gym membership right now, and I eat junk when I'm feeling down.  I CRAVE bad foods and just cannot say no!

    Re: Trying to eat RIGHT!

Hi ladies!  I've been on vacation and now I really need to come here for some support so I can get back on track!!  Gained a few pounds because I ate horribly for over a week.  I did sorta work out.  I did crunches and worked on my arms.  Didn't do any real cardio, just relied on our activities like swimming and playing on the beach to count for that.  Now that I'm back (4 days) I haven't done much of anything.  I did walk yesterday on my two breaks at work (a mile total) and I started a low carb diet yesterday as well.  I was just previously watching my calories and working out atleast 5 times a week.  My workout usually consists of a walk with the kids to the park or while they ride bikes.  I like to pull them in the wagon to get some extra resistance.  I also do crunches and arms at home (with an exercise ball and hand weights).  I do have a gym membership but I haven't had any time to get there in probably 2 months.  So, I do what I can at home.

I decided I needed to lose my vacation weight and I wanted to lose more after vacation anyways.  So, I decided to do the carb diet b/c my husband has done it in the past.  He always has great results (typical for a guy).  But mainly I'm doing it because I can't get him to do anything else with me.  I really want his support, I feel it will be easier if we are doing the same thing.  When I was watching my calories he would ask to go for ice cream, or want to take the kids to the pizza buffet.  Hopefully he'll stick to this with me.  I also told him it would be fun for us to work out together too.  So, we'll see about that.  He doesn't like to walk much so maybe he'll atleast go to the gym with me if we get the opportunity or do some other things at home that I've been doing.  I'd like to see some decent results from the low carb thing.  I want to do it for atleast 4-6 weeks.  Then once I'm happy with some results from that I want to slowly introduce carbs and then maintain a low calorie eating habits to maintain with a regular work out.  How does that sound?  Well, my birthday is September 28th and I would LOVE to drop to sizes by then.  I can do it!!  I think I would be satisfied with my appearance then.  I already have a boost in my self esteem by losing 2 sizes already.  I think if I lose 2 more I think I would be happier with a more toned body and even that much more energy to play with my kids!

Libra it is great you are committed to improving your health.  I am having a hard time changing habits.  That is the most difficult part for me.  I started a high fiber diet and it is working well but I have days where I keep reaching for the easy food.  It does not help that I am always on the go and never home to eat.

    Re: Trying to eat RIGHT!

I'm trying to cut out the junk food and eat healthier, but it's tough to make the changes. Although at least it's berry picking time for me, so I've got great snack food right in front of me...I'm in PT - exercising about an hour a day, but it's difficult to do cardio - the really good exercise - because I now have a walking boot/removable cast on one foot...I hate water, so pool exercising is out for me...ugh. Challenges...I can't wait to start walking again. For exercise, I mean.
