    tie-dye help (vinegar question)

dss made a tie-dye shirt at the boys and girls club yesterday. he came home with it wadded up still in a ziploc bag. he said i need to put vinegar on it to make the color stick. i have never done tie-dye so i'm clueless. how much vinegar? straight vinegar or mixed with water? can i fill my washer on small on the "soak" mode and just dump in my leftover bottle of vinegar from easter eggs? it's a fairly small bottle. but mostly full.

Good luck figuring out who is right! lol Either way...I'd wash that shirt by itself in the future.

LOL. yeah. i think i'll just try soaking it in the vinegar/water in the washer. then wash it. we'll just have to see what happens.

it would be my luck, the dye would somehow stay behind in the washer and wind up on dh's clothes. nobody else's clothes ever get ruined except HIS and i wash all of our together. go figure. he's always finding some spot or blemish. ugh.
