I no longer have a "baby" with dry skin, but a 14 year old now! Immediately after bathtime, put petrolium jelly on the dry patches and then find 100% cotton pj.s.- clothing, etc. to have him sleep in. play in, etc. I also bathed her in oatmeal baths for the itching and just recently have found "Arbonne" baby products that are all natural, no chemicals for bathtime, as a niece of mine suffers with dry skin as well. The deramtologist told me not to use soap products....again, the Arbonne is all natural. Lotions are a no no, because they all contain alcohol to help them dry on your skin. Ointments are better. We used Eucerine for moisture as well as the Petrolium Jelly. The cleanser I used, instead of soap was called Cetaphil or something like that.....and we put a whole house declorinator on as chlorine strips away natural oils as well. We still use these tried and true methods after 14 years.....they do work!
