Pastors should encourage single people.

I just think; with the Lord "Shaking what can be shaken" and with people becoming more willful and leaving their homes in record numbers; and with newly single adults becoming much more prevalent in the church... That pastors should possibly recognize that these people need affirmation from the pulpit... That they need to be educated in the process of having quality, Christ-centered relationships, both within their gender and outside their gender... Because, I believe, the root cause of many repeat divorces is the lack of knowledge in the church, of how to live correctly as a single adult; of how to choose friendships and relationships properly, and how to date and bond as a couple before a new marriage. That's what we do in our ministry...

Hello,
I noted there are no posts on this forum. So I hope someone is out there to respond! We are thinking about starting a singles group here locally, and wanting to do it right. Just looking for some tips or other's experiences. Thanks

Curious - SinglesForum, Why no postings

Soooooo... I'm Curious:

Q: Why are there no postings in the Singles Forum???

I thought, at first, maybe it was because of the change over done awhile back... that this forum wasn't up and running yet.

Q: Does anyone happen to know if they had this before; if so was if actually being used? Or successful? Maybe there just not many singles that come to the FLT site.

Q: Or maybe no one 'brave enough' to be the 'FIRST' posting!?? LOL :)

My Mom always taught me to ask questions... She said, "That is one of the reasons that God gave you kids a mouth". Which, still cracks me up to this day! :) (Love & miss you Mom!)

You see; as I got a little older... I started to notice: she was usually asking us, to ask questions for HER! LOL :)

Ex: We'd be some place; like the store or some where, needing directions or general information... and she'd say "Go ask them ___(Fill in blank - whatever was needed)___." LOL

:) So one day... I asked her... "Mom, how come you always have us ask questions for you then?!?" LOL She smiled and said, "That's what God gave us you kids for!!" LOL :]
