Do you know of someone close to her age/a bit older who could be a mentor to her (kind of like a big sister)? If someone that had went through that "rebellious teen stage" and now is Christ-filled, she could see first hand the struggles that person faced. She could hear testimonies from someone who's not an older person (because you know parents and adults know nothing!! :) ). If anything, it'll make her think.

Even better than a church camp is a teen mission trip...to another country. If your church sends temas to Mexico or other places....its an amazing experience for teens

Welcome... I have a 16 year old daughter too - and while we do not have these issues, it (or similar) has always been a fear. I wish I had good advice for you. Does your church offer a church camp? My daughter went for the first time last summer and it literally changed her attitude towards everything and everyone.

I guess you just tell her like my grandmother use to tell me: "as long as you live in my house. etc.," Of course there is the possibility that she may just decide not to live in your house. If she is like my neice (and they sound like twins) she will probably threaten you with that.."I'll just move.." To you should reply "Here let me help you pack...". In my niece's case, the threat was empty; she lives with her mother, who could care less about any of the activites that you mention (as long as she herself dosen't get into trouble...), so my niece does as she pleases.

She did use this on her father...at least a variation. Since whe only saw him one the weekends, she told him "I just won't come see you if you don't let me act the way I want to.." And she has went thru with that; She stayed with him this weekend; but that is the first time in 9 months.

My point is you really can't force her to change. What you can change is how she affects you. For your health it may become necessary to boot her out. It has happened in my family.

Hello, I'm new to this website, and I'm a concerned mother. My only child, Dawn, has recently been acting very distant and her new best friend is a homosexual which makes me very nervous because i fear he could be a bad influence on her. She and her other friends constantly make inapproiate comments or jokes with each other and several times my husband and I have overheard her using the most horrible profanity and then about a month ago she started refusing to go to church and it's like she is a completly different person who I fear may be drinking or worse and I just don't know what to do about her.
