My dear sister hopeforpeace, I'm pleased to hear that the weekend was helpful!!! I'm thanking God and praising Him that you and your husband are moving forward into a healthier life!!! Wow, you are really learning how to surrender to God and also how to walk in faith!!
Walking in FAITH (believing for what is yet unseen) is so important! In our human nature, we tend to focus on what we see, how impossible the reality looks! But we've got to have a living spiritual focus. When I had an abusive husband, I believed for what he could become in Christ, so that I didn't become discouraged by his present behavior. The Bible says without faith it is impossible to please Him, and the Just (righteous) shall live by faith. Faith is a Life and a daily walk!
I remember how I used to explain my problems, "complain", or beg God when I felt desperate for change. But one day the verse in Proverbs hit me, that God wants us to "delight" in Him and then what follows? -- He will fulfill the desires of our hearts! Wow, that was a life-changer for me and God is happier too! <smile>
I think if your husband can figure out the why he isolates, it might be easier to substitute different behavior at those times...
My daughter has been ill for 10 years and we found a great doctor this summer 600 miles away, but she's really struggling.... The enemy is fighting against my faith harder than ever right now!!! You see, the medical system can't help this, so I'm having to follow the Spirit of the Lord to get the right help... and I'm a single mom being her full-time caregiver because she has minimal energy...and I can't be employed and spousal/child support has been extended for who knows how long... Lord help us! So, THANK YOU, for praying for us!! I have a thread here about Carla...
Love & prayers,
~Renae
