Everyone, I lost my father this morning just before 10 am. I was with him, and he passed right there in my arms. He can finally rest in peace.

Diane,
so sorry to hear this. Our thoughts/prayers are with you and your family.
I lost my Dad 11 years ago and was fortunate enough to be with him also. He was a very lucky man to have you as his daughter and at his side every day. I know you can't fully appreciate it now, however being with him and having that closure will help you emotionally in the future. It did for me.
Take care, Rich and Lora

Diane, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please promise us that you will now take some time to care for yourself. You have been under tremendous strain and still will have much to contend with. Rest, eat and please call at any time for support as the days ahead will be tough. You were a wonderful daughter and champion for getting him the care he needed. Take consolation in the fact that your father knew how deeply you loved him. No one could ask for a better daught. hugs Mary

Thanks so much everyone. It was so helpful to have you all here through our battle. I am thankful we got one last good year together.
Ironically, the mills that gave my father his meso. mysteriously burned to the ground last night. I thought that was quite a co incindence.
I feel like a hole has been punched in my life. Don't even know where to start to move forward.

DIane, I am so sorry. I'm so glad you were with him and he is at peace now. He would want you to take care of yourself...you have been thru so much with him and have been a wonderful daughter/caretaker for him. He was lucky to have you and now will be your guardian Angel. Your situation mirrors mine so much, makes me scared, but you have been a great help to me. Please keep us posted on here.... Again, my thoughts and love are with you..... Sue

I'm so sorry your dad has passed. By your being with him will definitely bring more closure and less questions to yourself.I was with my dad too and knew I did the best I could for him. Now you need to go take the time to do all those things you never had time for. Do it for you. Tears will flow and you will miss him always, but the good memories you shared are always there. Please continue being part of your meso family also. We are always here for you.

I want to thank you all for your kind words and prayers for us. I so appreciate them. I feel very lost. For some reason friends and other family are calling my brother to offer condolences., when I was my Dads only caregiver. Noone's even called me. I'm not being selfish, because my Dad is what's important, but I just don't understand why I am overlooked. Thats why I appreciate everyones aknowledgement here. You all have been on the journey with us, and I with you. So thank you with all my heart.

Dear Diane, I am continuing to pray for you. I am sorry about your situation of people not calling you but calling your brother. I believe you really got the blessing by being with your father when he passed. Also, as you know, we are all with you here on this site. As others have said, please continue to keep in touch with us. Is there any sort of obituary for your father that we could see? Sometimes, the funeral home has a site where people can leave condolences. Thanks.
Many blessings,

Thank you so much George. My Dad's obituary can be seen at ryderfuneralhome.com
I wrote it myself for Dad, and it would mean a great deal for my friends here to read it. I am very proud of his accomplishments, and the kind of man that he was.
I will be on this site for a good long time, as I have gotten to know so many of you, through stories of triumph and tragedy. We are truly a family here.

Diane, email me if you want to be part of the support group for adults who have lost parents to meso. We have just started the group and hopefully it will be of benefit to have the support of others who have been in your situation. Mary
