This news may be on here elsewhere but, I'm posting this any way as I know some don't visit the rest of this site often. On Sept. 26th the Sommons Cooper law firm, with 2 other groups, is holding a Miles for Meso 5K fun run/walk! The event will be at the corner of Alton & 4th Streets in Alton, Il. That's only 40 minutes from St. Louis. Registration is from 7:30 - 8:45AM. The 5K is at 9:00 & an awards ceremony at 10:30AM. There will be an onformation booth also. I'm hoping to attend as that's only a little over an hour away for me. I know Julie plans to attend also. I see several posting here from IL., Mo., & the St. Louis area. If you're close, think about attending! I hope they plan to make this an annual event! You can get info at www.milesformeso.org .

Simmons is also helping me with a race on October 11th in St. Louis-- do one or both!!!! Our hope is to eventually turn it into a nationwide thing like the Komen Foundation.  More information will be put out there soon.  You should be able to link to both races on the miles for meso site.

please let me know when an event is planned for other areas.....especially northern Florida so I can participate

I don't know that we'll know about other events, especially in Florida. This 5K is local & sponsored mostly by the Sommons Cooper law firm, which many here are clients of. I live in S. Illinois, not far from St. Louis Mo. Julie & several others are in St. Louis or that immediate area. The law firm is right across the river in IL.

I'm not posting this to discourage you! I just want you to know that you may need to make contacts near you to learn of, or start your own event! I know they'd like to make this 5K national, like the Komen run for a cure for *** cancer.
