    Mesothelioma Awareness Day

As some of you know, Lacey & I got an Executive Dept. Proclamation recognizing awareness day from IL. Gov. Blagojevich. Our state rep. has agreed to help get this through the IL. legislature as a permanent declaration. I have an apointment with that rep. Tues. Sept. 2nd to get that process started. We will also discuss getting his office to do a state wide press release about awareness day & our efforts to get it recognized, asbestos banned, etc. Our state rep. is Mike Bost. If any other IL. advocates are interested in this effort send me a msg. on this site. If you can also get your rep. or state Senator behind this give me their name. Maybe if I pass their names on to Mike it can become a collective effort & go through more  easily & or garner more publicity. I will ask Mike about that. Meanwhile, wish me luck! I believe Mike will give this his best effort. He's a good guy, still home town, cares about his neighbors grounded, believing he was elected to serve!   Janet

    Janet!

You are terrific!  You can tell them that Pennsylvania State Senator John Rafferty is instituting a similar resolution in the state Senate here, and will be getting the state House Reps to do the same. Maybe having back up from a "sister state" will help the effort.

Great work you guys are doing.  I will contact my state rep and state senator about this.
