New meaning for Memorial Day this year

    Hello all,
Memorial Day is a whole new experience this year for me. Some of you may be experiencing the same thing...or perhaps are continuing the observance in honor of a lost loved one.
Since there are no bereavement groups where I live, I have welcomed 3 invitations to memorial services with the upcoming 'holiday.' One from the Hospice who helped care for Dad, one from the local VA hospital where Dad spent the last 2 1/2 months of his life, and one from the Federal VA hospital. Each have asked that I bring a photo of my Dad for the memorial tables, and that I stand on his behalf at the Veteran services.
I don't think I have ever felt a bigger sense of pride, than to have the honor of standing up for my Dad, and you can bet I'll be wearing my mesothelioma awareness ribbon for all to see. I will be advocating for everyone stricken with or fighting alongside a meso warrior. This Memorial Day, Tom Koske's daughter honors him, and is proud to be his daughter. Love and miss you Dad, every second of every day.

What a wonderful thing to experience. Maybe you could wear a mesothelioma t shirt. It just might start conversations and bring awareness to the disease that took your dad.
